What was your favorite project from Marvel Phase 4?!

Falcon & Winter Soldier is so weird to see people’s thoughts on because I remember when we were watching week-to-week all the online discourse felt deep and important and political and powerful. And then as soon as it was over people were like “meh 🤷🏾‍♂️ it was alright”

Edit: I always forget NWH was in Phase 4 but that’s in a league of its own.

Loki was my favorite phase 4 project. That and shang chi are pretty much tied but I give the edge to loki cause I love loki

Ms Marvel, Wakanda Forever, WandaVision, Loki, Shang-Chi, Eternals and No Way Home to me are all incredible experiences and what I would put in my A tier for this phase.

I'm a fan of Eternals too. Nice to see it high on your list and Spider-Man: No Way Home is my favorite of Phase 4 as well. I've come around to Shang-Chi. I wasn't as big a fan of Awkwafina's comedy but it doesn't bother me as much anymore. The movie is really well made and pretty fun.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special and Werewolf by Night we're both exceptionally done. I love the old school horror look and Guardians feels like an instant Christmas classic already.

Spiderman NWH is a movie experience that will be VERY hard to recreate. It's an experience that may never happen again. Having 20 years of a character on screen, with three different actors bringing that character to life in a different way, and then bringing them all together for one movie and letting them each continue their own

Great list Coy! Having rewatched all of Phase 4 again, my list aligns with yours a lot (except for Multiverse of Madness—much higher and Wakanda Forever #1). I was glad to see Eternals was so much higher on your list than most lists I’ve seen—I feel like people truly missed the brilliance of this film. It deconstructed the team movie trope in a brilliant way. My hope is the same as yours—people will appreciate it later on.

Loki, Shang-Chi and WandaVision. I really (edit: more than the ones I mentioned) enjoyed BP:WF and SM:NWH - the creators on those were super ambitious/resilient and actually did a good job and I’m pretty sure both will be extremely important to the greater MCU but I feel less compelled to rewatch either.

I completely agree that WandaVision and Wakanda Forever are perfect bookends to the phase 4 as WandaVision introduced us to the idea of “What is grief if not love persevering” that pretty much all of Phase 4 follows while Wakanda Forever conveys this feeling perfectly through the mirroring of T’Challa’s death with Chadwick’s.
