As someone with multiple cats that came from different places, that's not even fighting, they're just playing. There's no hissing or anything. Also licking each other's bums is very natural and instinctual for cats. That's where their scent glands are and it's their way of communicating and bonding! So they're getting along pretty well actually.

For the butt thing... when kittens are very small, they're not capable of going potty without being stimulated by their mom. That's what the licking is for. Even the playing, Papaya letting herself be snuck up on and pounced on the hip/shoulder is a way of helping Banana practice her hunting skills. ALL the "fighting" clips you showed are just normal, healthy play.

In short: Papaya is treating Banana as her own kitten! They're already super close!

They're not even fighting. They're playing. It's wonderful that Papaya is willing to give the new addition plenty of time and energy

Not fighting! Playing being that rough is 100% normal for cats. This IS what cat best friends look like. Play fighting constantly and then sleeping together. Cats that really dislike each other hiss/growl a lot, avoid each other, and will geniunely break skin and cause injuries. They are not fighting.

Mom cats lick their babies' bums to help them go to the bathroom when they're very young. Papaya might be thinking Banana is her baby ❤

"By the way Banana. Do not be so fast. Best regards, Papaya" 😂😂😂

The licking bumbums was good! Cat's get to know each other through the scent better than any other sense! It probably allowed them to bond better, now that they got used to each other's scent :))
Also, it's a sign of trust, since the bum is one of the least protected areas in the cat

Older cat grooming younger cat is normal.
But!! I never heard of kitten grooming older cats. Either she’s actually trying to “fight” for dominance or she’s a natural “motherly” cat.
So she’s either very bold or very very kind and caring.
Maybe both 🥰

They are allowing each other to sniff their part that is the least protected from danger

Like everyone else is saying, that’s definitely not fighting, it’s playing! I adopted a new kitten in February, and it took a couple weeks before he & our first cat started playing like that. He wanted to play with her right away, but she refused to engage with him. She hissed & hid from him. When the two of them started waking me up at 3am by chasing each other all over the house, I knew they were on the road to friendship😄

Ohh this is great to see! I think Banana has a lot more kitten energy than Papaya. Big sister is more relaxed.
