So I had a ‘bozo moment’ and forgot to mention, but yes you do need an Amazon prime membership for the Prime gaming stuff.
My advice is to use the free trial they give you (use a prepaid card if available) and then cancel it after if you want (the skin will still be there regardless if you canceled the subscription/ended it)
