The funny part to me is that TikTok used to be Musically, which was a successor to Vine, but the current atmosphere is absolutely nothing like what Vine was, and I don't think we'll ever be getting another Vine app.

As much as I hate TikTok, I can't deny that this could set a fairly dangerous precedent for social media apps. Brainrot will always exist, and if TikTok gets banned, creators will just migrate to YouTube shorts, similarly how Yahoo Answers shut down and caused the people posting there to move to Quora.
