How to speak English confidently!

MY SOCIAL MEDIA:

Do you want to improve your pronunciation? I have launched my British English (Modern RP) pronunciation course! I’ll train you to read phonetic transcriptions, and produce each sound that comprises modern received pronunciation. I’ll also teach you how to implement the correct use of intonation, stress, rhythm, connected speech, and much more. We’ll compare similar sounds, and look at tricky topics like the glottal stop and the dark L.
Technically, I need to mark this as an AD even though it is my own company so - AD :)

Any of you that follow me on Instagram will know that I have recently acquired a powerful new computer which means I can make much better quality videos. I've spent so much time learning new tricks putting this video together. I've never had a video take so long! I make these videos for you guys so I really want your feedback: do you like the new style with the blackboard? Does the extra editing make a difference for you? Do you have any recommendations? Love you loads, Lucy xoxo

To be more confident, remember that the person you are talking to doesn't speak your language.

I've been a teacher for 20 years and I have to say this is the best advice I have ever heard a teacher give their students. And I'd like to add that this advice is not only excellent for learning a language but for life in general. Thanks a lot. You're brilliant.

I totally agree! When you start not caring about what other people might think when or if you make mistake, it makes you more confident so fast regardless of the language. I experienced that with English and German, hopefully soon with Spanish as well :D

Thanks for these tips! I started learning English in school so when I graduated about half a year ago my vocabulary as well as my grammar were on an advanced level but I still had some difficulties with actually talking in English just because I wasn't used to it at all. But when I started talking to myself on a regular basis in English I actually became more confident and in conclusion it was also easier for me to laugh at myself when I made mistakes or forgot a word. I am really passionate about this language as it is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful languages on the world. I really like your channel and the way you teach. Oh and btw I'm sorry I didn't intend for this comment to get so long. :D

one of the most helpful methods in learning english or( any foreign language) is to think in english .
don't translate the statement or speach to your own language .
force your self to answer back in english directly with out hesitation.

That's why I thought your were older: your CONFIDENCE in doing this videos. You look and show to be so secure and determined that nobody would say you're so young and new in this business.

And if we look for, the majority of any language teachers around here on youtube are older than you. But it's proved to us and to YOU, since the beggining as you can see, that this was never a problem !

You're absolutely right! I practice speaking to myself when I'm alone, I record everything what I speak and will listen to it later! This way really helped me to get to know where I make mistakes and not just that it helped me gain more on what I am speaking and I usually talk about my self, my hobbies, my flaws, my love etc... I really enjoy making mistakes n learning them😁

Recently, because of a lot of English speaking practice, I'm getting worse at my native language...

I talk to myself in English all the time, cause I think it's a great way to keep my English level since I don't have any other way to practice speaking. I thought it's a weird thing to do actually, but now I know it's not ))) Thanks, Lucy! ;)

I always see people speaking other languages without accent, and I myself am a portuguese speaker, but I think I speak english with a native accent. And you speak spanish without accent to, but I never saw someone speaking brazilian portuguese without accent
