TORUS™ 5.0 - Design Wizard Feature Video

The TORUS roundabout wizard assists designers in the initial design process of laying out a roundabout. The design wizard provides a series of thumbnails of various roundabout layouts that are based on the number of approach legs and design guidelines.

To initiate the design process, users can define the type of roundabout or select the regional design method and the number of approach legs in the general configuration category. Afterwards, TORUS will generate a series of roundabout thumbnails based on the number of approach legs and design method. Once the user has selected the appropriate layout, they will need to select the Design Guideline and rotate the roundabout layout to match the traffic flow.

Using TORUS’s editing tools, users can further refine the layout and conduct safety analysis checks such as fastest path, sightlines and vehicle movements for operation efficiencies.
