when I was 7 in 2005, I had no idea about tabbed browsing, so when I first saw it, I was amazed. I installed Firefox on the family computer, and I have used Firefox ever since

Firefox is still easily the best browser available.

One advantage that Firefox has over Chrome is that it manages memory better. Chrome has suffered from memory leaks causing your computer to slow down when you have many tabs opened. This has not been a problem in Firefox.

Also, Firefox has a built RSS reader allowing you to read XML files in the browser, whereas Chrome does not.

The reason it took so long for Microsoft to release IE7 with tabs is because, they orginally said IE6 would be the last version of IE and they were busy trying to get Windows Vista out. IE7 is also available for Windows XP SP2.

I use Brave browser now. I have sentimental memories for FIrefox since it's my main browser for 10 years. I remember it feels way tidier and just feels more modern than the infamous IE6.

Well I don't know why this was recommended to me 3 years later

At least the older logo looks better than the newer one

I can't honestly remember why i started using firefox, i think it was because at the time my other alternative was IE 6 or 7 and those things were insanely slow to use with abysmal startup times

I had it when it was called Phoenix. Even when it was in beta, it was better than IE. Firefox was my primary browser until they introduced the Australis UI, when I switched to Pale Moon.

FIrefox was really good those first years, definitely the best, it was impressive. Chrome came and was good but FF was better. But then came a time where FF became very slow and it never recovered from this slowness.

I was on dialup internet until 2008 and back in 2005 when I tried firefox 1.0 I found that it was very slow compared to IE. I was torn between IE and FF because IE was 10 times faster at rendering pages on slow connections but I really loved Firefox's tabbed browsing. I did wind up using a toolbar I forget the name of but it gave somewhat hackjobed tabbed browsing to IE 6 and I just suffered with that until firefox 3.0 when they tweaked the rendering engine. I also used opera back in the day which had a good rendering engine for slower computers but it had a giant banner ad back then which you had to pay to get rid of

I switched to Firefox for Version 1.5 which was November 2005. Thought it was earlier than that, used IE before and have used Chrome for around 8 years as Firefox became unreliable at one point

There are three games I can play in the Firefox web browser while watching YouTube videos in the Firefox web browser, which are 2048, Simon and Tic Tac Toe.

I still loyally use Firefox and have done so since days of Phoenix.
Sadly nowadays it requires lots of fiddling with css code to fix all that bs of the "modern" user interface design.
For example i still refuse to use the chrome style tab placement on the top of the browser, and basically my browser still largely looks like the way it looked in the days of Firefox 1.0

Needless to say that i was not happy with the latest proton ui mess, but luckily was able to get the user interface restored back after few hours of playing around with css.
