Dr. Z Z-Master Amp Overview With Joe Walsh

It took over 50 years for Joe Walsh to put his signature on a guitar amplifier, but with the Dr. Z Z-Master, he finally did it. And it was worth the wait! Patterned after a long-lost vintage combo from his past, the Z-Master delivers a tube-soaked tone versatile enough to accommodate Joe’s playing style and his vast, unique collection of guitars. Experience an impressive range of sonic textures thanks to two internally blended voices with independent Volume knobs. Then fine-tune your sound with Bass, Treble, and Presence controls. Integrating your pedalboard with the Z-Master is a breeze, thanks to its high-headroom design, but crank it up and you’ll need to watch out — it can get pretty rowdy when it has to.

He simultaneously looks like he doesn't know where he is while dropping some of the best tone knowledge I've ever heard. Joe is a national treasure.

Joe sold Page his #1 1960 Les Paul, gave Pete the 3x10 bandmaster and has been THE guitar amp sound guru since the 70's - just wanted everybody to sound great, His generosity in a cutthroat industry is humbling. Thanks Joe

Probably the best amp rundown I've ever heard. It's all off the cuff and shows the deep knowledge Joe has on the amp. Gallagher did a fantastic job staying out of his way, not interrupting, and just letting him talk.

What a cool interview is a are lucky to have him around.

This is about the most comprehensive description of an amp by a signature artist I've ever heard. Joe shows you what it sounds like, and if you have a grasp of tube amp design, lays out why it sounds like it does and why he wanted this as his signature amp. This is the opposite of much of the bullshit you get surrounding much gear, signature or otherwise. Fucking awesome

Joe Walsh is my favorite rock star. Favorite American really. I’m 29, 2 years clean. Didn’t pick a guitar back up until I took the straight n narrow. Thanks Joe for all the cool inspirations. Turn to stone 🫡

Joe's a damn living legend! Can't nobody play funk#49 better than Joe, and his tone is as consistent as always..I've been a fan since the James gang on through the eagles & his solo records.

Yet another addition to the absolute Legend and list of glorious accomplishments of Joe Walsh. This man is connected to and is responsible for some of the greatest occurrences in music history. The guitars, the musicians, the bands, the songs, the effing greatest guitar licks ever recorded, and now, the most intuitive amp geek on the planet. Thank the stars for Joe Walsh.

I could listen to Joe talk for hours. When you look up Rock and Roll in the dictionary there's a picture of him. Epic player and songwriter. Bravo.

When you consider how the music of iconic artists like this went on to become the soundtrack for so many peoples' lives and has been imprinted on their souls, it underscores how much a rightful part of history they are.

There’s more to Joe than people think. His musical knowledge is far greater than he lets on. I first saw him on the Old Grey Whistle Test in the 70’s. It was a live version of Rocky Mountain Way from American tv, I was hooked and still am. My hero.

I can't help but wonder how much hell Joe catches at Highway Sobriety Checkpoints even though he's 25 years sober. What a songwriting, guitar playing legend. He's inspired so many for so long!
