"I wouldn't piss on this bike if it was on fire" 🤣

The new bikes are just "gimick" bikes to keep sales up.

I own an emonda slr 9, this is the best bike I’ve owed. Climbs great weighs 15lbs and it’s fast. It does what Trek claims it does and the Segefredo team is good with it and that’s good enough for me.

I had a 2016 Carbon emonda rim brake and I loved it, I now have a 2019 emonda SLR direct mount and I love it even more, sub 7kg.

I know someone who just bought one with Dura-ace Di2 12 speed and Dura-ace C50 wheels. People are stupid.

I walked into a Specialized shop in Auckland and a Specialized Tarmac Expert was on sale for $11, 500. I bought an ex demo 2006 Tarmac Expert on February 3rd 2007. That wasn't a bargain but it was way better than the current model.

I really don't know man, I felt the Disc brake bike are sluggish and the braking are not as good as they HYPE. My experience with disc on 105 & 12speed ultegra is that they didn't grip as good as the rim on the dry. When I press the lever "Disc" the wheels is still rotating and when I press harder so that I can grip more on the disc...the Squeak sound is so loud. I need to try it on the wet and review. But at the moment, is the DISC are better than the RIM, I would say NO. Rim brakes have a better quality ride. I'm comparing with the HI END rim brakes and the Disc.

These high end bikes only make sense for like 0.0001% of people on this planet

I own a new Emonda - I bought it as an upgrade after riding a Trek 2.3 for 10 years (alloy w carbon forks, 105). Always liked the old madones, and felt like the emonda looked like the madones of old (albeit with disc brakes). I also didn't like the look of full blown aero bikes/bikes with dropped seatstays and viewed the Emonda as the 'last new bike you can buy that isn't "stupid modern" if you get my drift). I was reluctant to switch to disk brakes, I still don't feel like they are necessary and agree that they probably add weight/drag. Regardless, the emonda climbs incredibly well (must be something to do with stiffness as it is heavy) and the aero is noticeable.

Great to see this video! I just bought a 2014 7.9 Trek Madone project one through Ebay, it’s new, it was always kept into a warehouse. Today I rode it for first time and a man with a new Emonda SL6 Di2 (Shimano 105 electronic) told me: Nice bike but mine it’s only 6.5 Kg (yeah….sure 😂). I wasn’t training constantly last 2 months and this guy was sooo far away either climbing or descending. Thanks Durianrider for telling us the truth! IYNYN!

Hey Harley. Would you be willing to make an updated video for 2022 on 'the best road bike for a n00b'? I'm considering the diverge.

I’m thinking of buying a Trek 2022 Checkpoint ALR5 for gravel/touring. It’s about 3000 dollars Canadian which I think is equivalent to Aussie dollars. What do you think?

I agree on the bikes dont need to spend a ton to be good or fast or have fun.. Problem for me isn't weight loss goals its trying to ride less so im not to lean. Its very windy around here we are rated some of the worst wind in the USA in southern Minnesota i ride year round all seasons. An it about to get cold real cold but i love to ride any day haha got bikes for every season about to start riding my gravel tires here for the snow season

New bikes are just an excuse to sell more bikes. Best bike I've got to ride is a 2019 TCR. I've worked on so many bikes a bike mechanic and couldn't believe how dull the new cannondale system 6 hi mod feels compared to the 2019 hi mod. All it felt like was a huge downgrade

Made to break in time for the next years release.... A bike that lasts forever isnt good for profits.

Plus you can get a really awesome motorbike for that much
