When someone asks "who are you?" what do you answer. Do you define yourself by your job? and are you simply just you. Where are you going?

Laura Daquino is a St Hilda’s Old Girl and Journalist for Business News Australia, who specialises in writing about the startup ecosystem, entrepreneurship and big ideas. She is especially passionate about female and youth entrepreneurship, applying this passion to help organise and host the annual Gold Coast and Brisbane Young Entrepreneur Awards. Laura spends her days interviewing inspiring and innovative people, pretending that speaking to someone like Erin Brockovich is work, when really it’s just a whole lot of fun.

The problem I have is that I love to do multiple things. I just want to find something that I like so much, but I have a problem because I just can't pick. I want to know now that way I can focus on studying that topic and starting at a early age to be the best that I could be.

my teacher asked us what we wanted to be when we grow up yesterday, and whatever that is we would bring in a prop today to represent our hypothetical occupation. almost everyone knew what they wanted to be, as i am in a gifted and talented education class and most of my peers wanted to pursue something that would exhibit their talents. i had no idea what i wanted to be, and i thought about this question and my options throughout the rest of my classes. i ended up deciding this was quite a stupid question and went with being a superhero, and wore my 'the flash' t shirt. today when she asked me what i wanted to be, i said superhero, and everyone began to laugh. the thing is, i wasn't joking. she told me to think of something that would be more realistic, and come back tomorrow with a corresponding object. i am currently pondering that question again, and though i don't know exactly where i want my life to go, i do want to be happy with whatever i choose. its like in the bee movie (lol), i don't want to have to do one thing the rest of my life and i don't want to be defined as such.

I want to be an FBI agent. I’ve always been interested in crime, law, and proving my point. I feel that dedication and persistency is what it takes to be a lawyer. I recently started watching criminal minds on Netflix many of you probs know it. It opened up my eye up to many different job possibilities, there are so many different FBI fields that I could work for. As I’m only a freshman in highschool I want to make sure this is truly my passion. As of right now this is my Dream. I know it’s a lot of school but genuinely I can’t see myself doing anything else when I’m older. I just hope I have the same feelings for the FBI that I do now when I’m applying to college hopefully I’ll revisit this comment when I’m older as of right now leave ur feedback if u wish in the comments that’s allll wish everyone reading this the best❤️

My fifth garde teacher asked everyone to write down what they wanted to be, so i was like "damn" because everyone was saying things, like astronaut, police n other things..i wrote down i wanna be "happy".when the teacher read all the papers n she came up to mine n she said did u understand what the assignment, i told her u dont understand me...

I’ll never forget in 3rd grade they were asking the class what they wanted to be when they grew up and everyone was saying Princess or Police Officer/Fireman and when she called on me and I said “I wanna be an Astronomer when I grow up I believe the Theory Of Relativity can be used to solve the mystery of life!”. The teacher looked at me with awe and the students were just like what did she just say that’s when my teacher told my parents I was really gifted even though I was already in gifted programs but they moved me up a grade just because I understood The Twin Paradox, The Theory Of Relativity, and String Theory so now everyone is taller then me older then me and my parents think I’m tall until they see my classmates.

I don't know what i want to be. I thought I wanted to be an astrophysicist, but I'm not sure if I could manage to go through with such a long education. I have always loved performing and I can sing. I have always been very interested in the universe, and i can't tame my curiosity for that, not that I want to, but I've also always been interested in analyzing personalities and characters and stories and every time I watch a movie or tv show I just feel this inner urge to become an actor because it seem so much fun and so interesting to dive deep into the sea that is a characters mind and to show a story to the world visually. I know that to become an actor, you have to be really devoted, and when I first set my mind to something, I am unstoppable, but I don't know which one I want more or even if either of them are possible! I just really don't know what to do.
