Beautiful. Fragile. Gentle. Cute. Tender. Sweet. Adorable. Layne's voice is described in many ways, but all agree his voice is a thing of beauty. Rarely heard, and a special treat for any VoicePlay fan: when Layne sings, the Voiceplayas rejoice and demand more!
Layne started his journey in the group as the baritone, before he took up the mantle as the group's beatboxer.

Interesting. His voice is placed more to the front of the mouth and has a ping. Also it has a soft, floating quality. He doesn’t appear to be a belter. He’s one of those light, bright, and airy singers. Nice!

A new-ish reactor, David K, recently described Geoff's voice as velvet, and Layne's as silk. I like that. Both so smooth but with different feel. :)

Layne is very talented, so many people have a beautiful singing voice, BUT very few can beatbox, Layne can do both and do them both very well 👏👏👏👏👏

Layne's singing comes in two flavors: most hilarious part of the song, or the lines that melt everyone's heart. Just yesterday I was listening to an acapella playlist on Spotify and... I dunno, I just froze, melted, and had to quickly check my phone who this was. It was an older song, I didn't recognize it right away, but sure enough it was Layne's rare singing line that just caught me off guard and melted me on the spot.

I definitely would love to hear more of Layne's singing. Even when he is blending his voice with the others', his contribution adds a balance that completes Voice Play's sound. Another adjective I would add to the list is "poignant."

I am not the biggest fan of VP but Layne has such an amazing voice. I thought Adam Rupp (the beatboxer of Home Free) had a good voice but Layne just blows Adam out of the water! No offense to any of my fellow Home Fries but I just love Layne's voice 😍
