That’s probably because 99.9% of the time all the resident endures is constant ridicule. It’s always the same thing, you’re either too much or never enough. Instead of teaching you, they act as though you should just know how to do everything and then degrade you when you don’t. Not to mention there’s always one person that has a life filled with misery that’s looking for company. Sadly the resident is the company.

There are several limitations to this study, but the rates that were shown are similar to what is seen in medical residency programs. We need to do better.
