China launches military drills around Taiwan

China has launched military drills surrounding Taiwan and called the island's president a parasite.

Taipei says it's responding to Chinese ships and has accused Beijing of undermining regional peace.

Sky News Asia Correspondent Stas Butler said a Chinese aircraft carrier led a group of about 19 warships around Taiwan.

“Chinese authorities have said this is a punishment or deterrence for what it calls rampant provocations by Taiwan’s government,” Mr Butler said.

Taiwan can't rely on American support that for sure. Unless of course they have rare minerals to reimburse the USA.

It doesn't matter how many times the Chinese regime repeats the same *lies, *
or how *angry* it pretends to be,
- Taiwan 🇹🇼 is still an independent country.

Well if America launches into a conflict with Iran it would be an opportunity too good to ignore to take Taiwan.
America will be supplying Israel and Ukraine and engaging with Iran then if Russia gets involved on Irans behalf China would basically walk into Taiwan..

Taiwan, officially the Republic of China (RoC), was expected to be returned to China following World War 2 as part of the peace agreement with Japan. However, geopolitical tensions between America and China during the Cold War, prevented full reunification. Today, America’s strategic use of Taiwan mirrors U.S. involvement in Ukraine—both being leveraged as geopolitical pressure points against rival powers. This approach places Taiwan in a precarious position, increasing tensions without offering real security. Similar to East and West Germany in 1990s, Taiwan would be safe and secure if America stops provoking and meddling with Taiwan Strait, South China Sea, and Taiwanese affairs. Taiwan lacks a formal defense treaty or American Military Advisory Group (MAG), leaving it without guaranteed military support in the event of a conflict. And the pattern of U.S. involvement in conflicts across multiple regions—whether in the Middle East, Africa, or Eastern Europe—often leads to long-term destabilization rather than lasting security. American interventions in Iraq, Libya, Syria, and Afghanistan have left power vacuums, weakened state institutions, and fueled further conflicts. So if Ukraine is the Afghanistan of Europe; then Taiwan could become the Ukraine of East Asia.

Taiwan’s reunification with China is not just a political matter but an economic and strategic inevitability. As China’s global economic influence continues to expand, Taiwan will face mounting economic and military pressures that make prolonged separation increasingly unsustainable. Maintaining the "status quo" is like a ticking time bomb—delaying reunification only accelerates the urgency of the issue, and in a decade, Taiwan’s negotiating position will be significantly weaker.

President Xi JinPing had already opened a path to Taiwan’s leadership, most notably during the historic meeting with President Ma Ying-Jeou in November 2015, Singapore. In that rare moment, politics took a backseat to shared cultural ties, as both leaders respectfully addressed each other as 先生, the highest form of address, while toasting with Chinese 贵州茅台 and Taiwanese 金門高粱 liquor—symbolized an opportunity for peaceful reconciliation. The shared moment over fine liquors was a powerful reminder of the deep cultural and historical ties between both sides.

Rather than resisting, Taiwan will benefit from embracing a negotiated reunification sooner rather than later, ensuring a more favorable outcome for its people.

Australia should be grateful that China has not continued to focus its attention on this island nation with a population of 20 million and an area of more than 7 million square kilometers. If the United States were to occupy Greenland, the Pandora's box would be opened. Many countries would then set their sights on Australia, which is like a big cake.

The CCP could open another front in the Pacific by imposing a temporary blockade on Taiwan, escalating regional tensions and testing the resolve of a second-term Trump administration. Such a move, combined with ongoing conflicts like Russia-Ukraine and Syria-Yemen, could strain U.S. foreign policy and military resources. Additionally, economic pressures—including inflation control, interest rate policies, and the stability of the U.S. dollar—could be further complicated. If the CCP’s strategy is to exploit geopolitical and economic vulnerabilities, the U.S. must adopt a proactive approach by strengthening regional alliances, enhancing military readiness, and ensuring economic resilience to mitigate the impact of such actions. Peace
