Purchased my 2006 sequoia 4x4 limited here in California for $7200 few months ago. Vehicle is currently at 148k miles. Super smooth and comfortable. Only con is 14mpg which was expected.

I bought a 2010 QX56 and this thing is an absolute beast. This platform(Armada, Titan, and qx56) with its 5.6 L V8 is fantastic. Also Nissan Xterra and Frontier probably should’ve made the list. All of these could be found in decent condition for under 10k. Most qx56 have been babied by their owners so it’s gonna be a steal. Anyway good content on your page!

Jeep Commander is fantastic overlander but to do so it requires some heavy mods. I added over $7K of upgrades in mine (3"..4" lift, wheels, 32" tires, steel bumpers, winch, lights) and now it is on par with Hummer H3 Adventure on trails but way more comfortable on long trips.

Hi Dillon, I have a question about the Sequoia. Having owned it for some time now and slept in it on a few occasions. What do you think of it's interior space? Do you and your wife find the interior space sufficient? Is there any time that you would hope for a larger vehicle, something like Suburban or a Expedition XL? Thank you!

The older Toyos, all good just HEAVILY inspect for frame rust. Avoid any that are heavily “under coated”.... this is often done to hide how bad the rust is... Seriously, lots of bad frame rust issues...

Great information! Thank you! Any chance you will do a video on the highlander? Looking at possibly getting one and would love to hear what you two have to say about it.

Just over your budget, but we have a 2006 Tundra DC and a 2006 4Runner (both 4.7) for 11k total :D just gotta be patient when looking. Took us over a year to find a good price on both.

The earlier generation of Grand Cherokee is a vastly better vehicle. It also has solid axles on both ends. These rigs, WJs, with a few cheap modifications make all of the rest of this list look silly off-road. The reliability argument goes out the window as soon as you include a Land Rover!

Would you rate the Tahoe and Suburban in the same class as the Excursion?

This is a testament that people still sleep on the VW Touareg🤔

I had a Toyota Highlander a few years back, I’m very sad to say I crashed it in to a truck hauling 5 pigs. All the pigs died and both vehicles were totaled, I got in a little trouble because I was very clearly high on pills. What they don’t know is I was also drunk because I drank an insane amount of dirt cheap vodka my half retarded brother gave me for Christmas. I took half a box of allergy pills and a FREAK load of prescription pills. Thinking back I’m pretty sure I only wrecked because I was trying to watch tv on my phone.

No more 🌳? Acquiring parts to start building an overlander out of my minty 05 V-10 Excursion 4x4... Great for when you need some S P A C E.... lol. NOT good on tight and or technical trails....lol.

You will never find a excursion diesel for under 10k unless it absolutely trashed, more like 20k and up, and the 6.0 is the most unreliable and expensive motor ever... terrible motor.
