Super valuable steps. Staying diligent is important. I struggle the most when I’m on maintenance because there’s no physical change.

When I do reverse dieting for about 5 wks I gain approx 5lbs. However this last reverse I did I gained almost 10lbs. Pretty much on reverse I eat same types of foods & I track.
PS I have been having anxiety/stress more than usual during this last reverse. So maybe this contributed to gaining more??
Thanks Colin great info.

My maintenance used to be 1200. But then I did increase to 1400, and i still lost some weight on weeks where I was very active. I have A LOT of energy. Right now, I increased again to 1500 this week. I hope this won't cause any gain or if it's gains then it's muscle mass only? I still have plenty of fat around my waist but I have lost a lot already. No more visible love handles! So technically speaking it would be now belly's turn to lose weight but yet I'm not giving it chance to, because I don't find weight loss very exciting. I really enjoy muscle and strength growth. Losing weight is ok, but just don't give me as much joy as beating my own records at the gym.

I’ve been eating probably 800-1200 cals for like 2 years and I’ve lost around 80lbs. I’m 16 and I was overweight before I lost the weight. I want to be able to go up to what I’m supposed to be eating by reverse dieting. I weigh about 120 and I’m 5’6” so I should probably be eating like 1800-2000 cals but I know if I just up to that amount in a day I will gain everything back. How should I go about this? I’m so scared I’m gonna gain more than 5lbs back and I don’t know where to begin in this reverse dieting journey. I’m trying to start at 1000ish and increase each week by 50 but I’m just so scared. What should I do?
