Thank you so so so so much for making this video. I started reading my texts the last two days to prepare for my first semester in my M.Arch degree this fall (unrelated bachelors background), and I think it is my Frank DK Ching “Building Construction Illustrated” and the very first section is all about building sustainability and how Architecture plays such a huge piece of the pie on making an impact on climate change (his statistic was actually 38%). I know I still haven’t started school yet but I’m pretty eager to specialize in sustainable residential design and I’m just really ready to help make these changes so we can help our home of earth continue to be home for as long as it lets us.

i noticed that someone has disliked. Personal opinion is important and respected, but the problems we brought to our planet are not a political issue and it is important that we let the actual scientists study the facts and help us find a solution. Also, "green" architecture is so better and more responsible on the areas of comfort and economy wich makes it a good way forward regardless of personal believes. Thanks for your content you are amazing!

These numbers and statistics are very ominous, I don't think humans are capable of handling them well. For example:
In your excellent story I do miss the influence of agricultural footprint on global warming. Much less is being built in the Netherlands at the moment because the agricultural sector refuses to give in. While this sector accounts for 40% of co2 emissions and 95% of the proceeds are exported to the EU, Asia and the USA.
Thank you for your excellent video.

Not enough emphasis is placed on those 100 companies being able to immediately help. Profits over people, is literally killing us and our planet. Great video!

Thank you, I like your teaching approach. Good luck with your current ventures. I’m considering the architecture route when enrolling in my classes this quarter, I’m so passionate about climate issues

Would love to know what type of materials could substitute for concrete, insulation etc? (I’m not an architect, just interested)

I have been abiding by that quote of the greenest building is the one that is already built. That mentality and this whole topic goes to another comment I made however about how do we redesign existing buildings for the future.

Great video! and still in cities like Miami we are spending a good 840 million dollars to have a landmark bridge.

The climate problem is we are 1.3 above the pre industrial age we are supposed to keep this under 1.5 to keep us from catastrophic climate events and the ability to grow crops in most areas we are currently. Some scientists like to make a point that we are already over 1.5 because at some point the baseline was moved from the middle of 1800s and moved it up to 1920s this is why they say we have passed the mark . Which might explain why we are seeing climate catastrophe on all corners of the globe. Super heat domes worse doughts in modern history. Flooding that's 1 in a thousand years is being reported. But if that's true or not
it makes little difference. Because we are not going to stop emissions. Probably not even slow them as this lady makes vary well known is the construction situation for new construction then add the rebuilding from current and future disasters. That's happening now and there huge and everyone around the globe is seeing it happen to them or near them .
That said we keep hearing how we must cut emissions in half by 2035 or 2050 every country is scrabbling to get a date that's none will probably make or like many plant millons of trees that's not going to help maybe after growing for decades. But they use this to balance the carbon trees being a balancing act for the carbon being released. This isn't going to stop or slow world wide carbon levels. That's the key . Even if we could stop emissions 100% today the Earth's going to keep warming for the for see able future. Because carbon emissions stay active for 50 years at least. So we are still warming from that school bus I took to school in the '70s we will warm up way pass the 2.0 that's lights out for man kind without a miracle.
