I listen to Dr. Huberman and get highly motivated for, like, 20 seconds, and then drop right back down to my default state of being.

It's not only about being productive, and being a high achiever. It's about being able to pay attention and grow and be able to interact with your environment in an effective way. You feel better, more energized, more driven. You take more care of your family, your environment. It's truly something that's hard to understand until you let go of the distractions. There's a peace in knowing that you can walk wherever you need to walk.

The hard truth to swallow is that not everyone wants to be a high performer

Some people have a need to excel at things, and some people like to just experience life at a slower pace. It's all good.

Without people to consume your products, your productivity means nothing. We are all part of a necessary cycle, and we all must find our personal happiness.

I used to be a very high achiever. I'd study 10 hours a day. Went into the world of work and found myself unprepared with mounting present and childhood ptsd. Ive been there, and I've tried to reach my 'full potential', i really think those who can should do it. If you're not that person, then live a simple and happy life. Take what works and be at peace with yourself. There's no virtue in over productivity.

I listened to him say this mid bite as I sat on my couch. Guess it's true for me. Life's not that bad though.

I understand what he is saying about unhealthy idleness and sedentary lifestyle, a result of many who are probably depressed (though assuming is not good either), but there is also the chance that many want to live slower paced lives and enjoy the simple things. We do not all have to be high achievers, and not everyone is meant to necessarily be something big and stellar, but as long as they do not harm themselves or others i see no issue. i watched a couple of this guy’s videos in my past Abnormal Psych class, and he makes good points, but then sometimes it sounds like the kind of bs someone on a podcast would say to sound more intelligent. Anyways, stay critical with what you learn, and stay cool. Take care 👋🏻

"People don't care"....Nah...many do. They full well understand they're living a bad lifestyle, but don't feel the ability to do anything else cause life sucks that much. Can't get yourself out of a ditch with no handholds or ladder. We have to help each other.

Finding a position in life where you find meaning and peace is ultimately more important than performing and being creative 24/7. It all depends on what you want, and if peace for you falls in line with passivity, that's fine.
