You could try releasing it chapter by chapter and then putting them together as a playlist. YouTube might like the video lengths better, and the multiple releases could be a great way to get more eyes on it. Either way, I think what you're doing is awesome and I'm excited to hear the audiobook!! ❤

As the author of 7 indie books, THANK YOU! Audible/Amazon does everything they can to pay indies less than they're due. Posting your audiobooks to YouTube is a great idea, too; perhaps I'll follow suit!

One of the reasons I love watching you, is that you always have the little guys best interests at heart. Audible is absolutely abhorrent in how they treat authors, and I'm really glad that you are shining more light into the situation. Dude this is really awesome. I am gonna be FIRMLY in the minority here but personally a reason I haven’t picked up the audiobook is I have been boycotting Amazon for a couple years now and don’t want to use audible lol. So I will definitely give it a listen on YouTube since audiobooks are really nice to listen to while doing other tasks

You should release them a chapter at a time and then create a play list that plays them in order. It could be like a series

Dan, i will hear your books through here. That's a promise.
CONTEXT: I had 3 different friends and a stranger recommend Sanderson to me. For "reasons", i didnt follow the advice.
UNTIL i was in a bad place in a bad job and found a ripped audiobook copy of Mistborn in youtube. It SAVED me from a pretty bad burnout on the verge of depression. Which prompted me to listen to Stormlight and insta bond with Kaladin. THAT lead to me buying not only every audiobook, but every paperback in a local bookstore of everything Cosmere. It lead me to YOU and this community. I've been following you since.. hum.. 5 years now? You made me read The wheel of time, bud.

So DO IT. And make it a playlist, divide it in (4?) parts (so at least you get some YouTube traction and maybe some specific feedback by part from your community).
MAYBE you'll get to be what Sanderson was for me at the time for someone else.

I wish you the best of luck in this endeavour. And this is my promise: If i like it, i WILL buy the paperback and place it in my reduced collection of books.
I dont buy manny, i dont have space/buying power but only the few ones i really appreciate. o7

I can tell you this, I like Daniel, wasn’t thinking about his books yet as I got plenty to read. But with him making his 2 books available for free. I’ll now be buying hard copies of every book he publishes. It’s a gutsy call and one I respect, that deserves rewarding. Nice job Daniel. Fight the power.

I really admire your integrity and transparency as a writer and content creator, Daniel. you always approach these things with nuance rather than having a one-dimensional view. I already own both of your books in ebook format (and loved them!), and I'm not an audiobook person, so this doesn't affect me personally. but that said, I'm very happy that more people will be able to enjoy the books through youtube. thank you for taking a stand and always supporting your peers. you set an amazing example for aspiring writers like myself.
