I took a trip to Portola, CA on May 15th (where they had been keeping it at the Western Pacific RR Museum since last August) to get pictures of it before it left. I got to get a cab tour, get up close shots, all kinds of stuff. Very impressive locomotive. Glad you got to see it on a revenue freight. Great job. Oh and congrats on making it to 1, 000!

Thanks Mike! Had no idea what I was gonna do about #1000, so i'm sure glad this was coming thru. In addition, it arrived in Clinton a few min. earlier than the projected time

Wow great catch!!! You got a lucky awesome catch for your 1000th video, and the last operating DDA40X loco. Wow totally wicked. It's going to be a longtime before I get to 1000 uploads. It may take me 3 or more months to get to 200. Awesome video.

It's grate to see the UP Heritage fleet still being used for revenue trains. THey should have that GE unit behind the DD40 at the headend... Lol. Grate catch bro and thank you for sharing.

I don't want to be the bearer of bad news but I think 6936 is dead in consist. I didn't hear her, no smoke from her, and that GE leader was working pretty hard. She could defiantly pull the entire consist by herself without breaking a sweat.

@Aaron200707 Yes, the Centennials have 2 separate prime movers. I have shot this unit both in action on excursions and on display but never on a revenue train. I have actually toured the 6936 inside and out on several different occasions. Prior to my visit to Portola, CA earlier this month, the last time I had an encounter with 6936 was at Dunsmuir, CA when it was on display for Dunsmuir Rail Days in 2007.

Congratulations on your thousandth railroad train video!

I wish 6936 had been the lead locomotive.

Why did Union Pacific quit using those?

@C60AC They told me at Portola that the reson this locomotive is so big is because it's two locomotives on one chasy. I belive it's even bigger than there SD90MAC. See this being used as power looks like a once in a lifetime thing. WOW!

I thought UP was storing or saving those units.
What is this one doing on a freight train?
Are they going to use it for freight service now?

That kind of engine is on one of my Trainz Games.

Get that GE outta there, this would certainly sound better with the monster EMD pulling this train on her own.

I wonder if 6936 can take on that stack train solo. If 3985 can (and did), 6936 can.

@xXDJIndeedXx Right now, it will be out moving around for various different events, and trains.
