The 2024 Jaguar F-Type R75 Convertible ($130,200 starting in Canada, $115,000 starting in the US) is an all-wheel drive grand tourer nearing the end of its production run. It’s blessed with a 575 horsepower supercharged V8 engine, and has a claimed 0-100 kph time of just 3.7 seconds. But how does it drive and how does it compare to some of its competitors like the Lexus LC500? And is now the time to buy a brand new F-type or to look to the used market? Thomas and James can’t wait to find out! We hope you enjoy the episode. SUBSCRIBE!

This makes me miss my 2015 F-Type R. I owned it for 2 years, 20k miles, made $16k on it thanks to Covid (the only time anyone has ever made money on a British luxury car) and put a down payment on a house. The first generation was prettier than the second generation F-Type but it's still a very nice looking car with a really fun character.

Had an F-type R AWD, bought it with 17, 000 miles put 40, 000 miles on it. One of the best cars I’ve ever had.

The auto subtitles saying "Music" for the engine sound : based.

I just traded my 718 GTS for an R. The Jag has to be one of the most overlooked and underrated cars. I love it so much.

the seatbelt interaction that starts at about 3:30 is absolute gold. if they're not dropping pianos on ladas in a couple of years there's something wrong with the world

I just want to say that James' comment about needing to drive "predictably" is absolutely golden! Being a professional driver myself, that is the one thing I have always stood firmly by. I preach that all the time to anyone and everyone I've ever trained. I'm so glad to hear someone else say that. BE PREDICTABLE! Bravo James!

Jaguar f-type was my dream car. Coming here just to see it once more after the horrible rebranding jaguar just did. Sad to see an iconic brand die like this. 😪

Jaguar F-Type rest in peace 😢😢😢.
The best looking sports car of the last 15 years ❤❤.
Awesome video, make a comparison test Jaguar F-Type, Lexus LC500, and some other cars that are no longer available?

I absolutely love my 2016 R with carbon ceramic brakes and the Alcantara interior! I keep up with everything on mountain drives and it’s not until you take it to the track that it starts to fall behind in performance. But straight line speed it’s a rocket and the exhaust alone is worth the price!

Best car I've ever owned. Every time I get behind the wheel I can't help but smile. Tried both the convertible and the coupe but settled on the coupe as the convertible has a comically useless trunk and I need to be able to at least go grocery shopping in it

SVR here. Sad this is gone but quite proud i own this raucous hell on wheels. I dont think these have been given enough praise. These cars get compared to cars that are double its price point esp in the used market.

I have an F-type V6S, and with 380 horsepower, it is still no slouch. These are REAL bargains. Mine in Firesand Orange convertible with carbon fiber front lip spoiler, side skirts and rear diffuser really stands out on the road. I get tons of complements every time I'm out on the road. It's the earlier model, so it still has the pops and bangs, and I was able to get it for in the 20's. SO glad you guys see the value in these absolute gems! Come to Long Island, New York and review mine! 😁

Had this as my first "real" sports car. A 2017 R awd. Moved to a 2019 Vantage, and then settled on my 997.2 911 gts.
I still miss this car. Thinking of getting rid of the 911 and grabbing a 2015 R with RWD at some point. Something really magical about this engine.

I’ve driven every variety of the F-type except the one in this video. Even the regular S version is fun, and the Rs are a riot. Easily the best all around 40-60k used sports car in North America. Reliability is no worse than the Germans either. The AMG GTs are now getting quite affordable too, and is more of a true sports car. But I think you can get still get a lot more for your money with the F-type, and the earlier gen is still a complete stunner. New ones never did it for me cosmetically.

I have a 2024 fpace SVR with the same engine. To get the pops and bangs on the overflow, you have to feather the throttle right at or slightly above 3k rpm. (Between 3k-3200) it’s still very loud and very obnoxious. It’s a burble and some sharp pops. Very fun.
Also, not sure if you guys were driving in S mode or regular D mode (not the same as in dynamic vs comfort)
You have to pull back on the shifter to get into S mode and it makes the throttle response sharper etc and the 3k rpm overflow pops and bang happen very easy with it on.
Great car. Love it. It’s super fast. My SUV is almost 5k lbs and I hit 60 in 3.8 seconds. Your convertible is like a thousand pounds lighter. It has to be fast af.
