Referees really should start consistently punishing diving and time wasting like this

Football coaches have been watching rugby, where Every “injury” is an opportunity for rehydration, coaching on the field (sometimes the waterbearers are sub players with earpieces) and bleeding the clock.

welcome to football in South America, we've been doing that for decades

hmm, what about a temporary substitute? Like the GK can be subbed out until the "injury" is not a problem then get in again, but if "injured" again they must be subbed out?

These "loopholes" about players faking injuries is bad for the game and for players really hurt.

In the brazilian league the keepers get injured every 5 minutes (but only when their team is winning, for some reason).

Think the clock should be stopped when the whistle is blown or the ball goes out of play like in rugby. No idea why we haven't changed this already...

If it gets banned, then they should atleast introduce short breaks or something. This might benefit all

I've also noticed alot of players seem to be going down with more head injuries to stop the game when the other team is attacking.

I don't know, as a goalkeeper myself we do plenty of dangerous things so it's much safer for the player if he goes down and gets proper treatment rather than just think he's faking since a lot of our injuries are either head or hand related due to diving at a players feet (so we get kicked) or trying to catch/parry the ball and potentially break a finger which is not fun to deal with because gloves aren't easy to cut open to help relieve the pain and start the healing process. All in all I think it's important that the game gets stopped just to make sure but perhaps they can add a time limit of sorts? Like 5 mins after a collision or smth

At the 2021 AFCON, Egyptian keeper Gabaski used this to absorb the pressure from the Moroccan attack who needed to score, by faking an injury and docs entering the field 3-4 times

So many problems in this game could be solved simply by pausing the clock when the ball is out if play, and adjusting game lenght to account for this.

2 halves of 30 minutes each with paused time. Problem solved.

The game is the game man, every win brings more money & prestige to the club.

Suggestion: if goalkeeper is injured, they’ll have to be sidelined and replaced by the substitute goalkeeper during the duration of the sideline, only after the ball went out, can the main goal keeper return and the sub goalkeeper can return to the bench.

It does not count as a used substitution.

On the off chance that no gokeeper is available from the bench (for example the sub goalkeeper is brought in to replace the main goalkeeper due to a sustained injury requiring substitution, and the aub keeper then also getting injured), then team will have to field an outfielder as a temporary goalkeeper until the keeper can return

Easy solution once the goalkeeper has stopped feigning his injury make a defender leave the field for 30 seconds

The stupid thing about faking injury is the other team benefits equally from the delay.

Implement an amendment to the rule where the keeper still doesn’t have to come out, but then the manager has to pick a field player to remove for like 30 seconds or something
