John Cena faced Kurt Angle at No Way Out 2005 for a chance at the WWE Title. At the end, Cena hit Angle with the FU to win the match. On Smackdown, JBL celebrated his victory against Big Show. Show came out, caught JBL, The Basham Brothers attacked him and they trapped him. Cena came out for the save and hit JBL with his portrait. There was a tag match, where Cena and Show won. Next week, Cena insulted JBL and JBL did the same. Then Cena defended his US title against Orlando Jordan. At the end, The Basham Brothers distracted Cena and the ref, JBL hit him with the title and Jordan pinned him to win the title. A week later, JBL destroyed Cena’s custom title and brough back the old one. Cena called out JBL with a steel pipe. Teddy Long came out and told him to wait until Wrestlemania. Cena said he’s part of the problem and hit him with the FU. Later after a match, Cena attacked The Cabinet with the steel pipe. Next week, Teddy said Cena will lose his shot if he lays a finger on JBL. Cena had the chance but he couldn’t do it. A week later, Cena sprayed JBL’s limo and he was arrested for that. They met at Wrestlemania. At the end, Cena countered JBL, picked him up, hit him with the FU and pinned him to win the title.
