Roald Dahl (13 September 1916 – 23 November 1990) was a British novelist, short-story writer, poet, screenwriter, and wartime fighter ace of Norwegian descent. He has been called "one of the greatest storytellers for children of the 20th century". His books have sold over 250 million copies worldwide and are widely studied by children in British primary schools. Many have been made into stage-musicals and movies. The Longleat Estate in Wiltshire, Southern England has become well-known in recent years for its magnificent winter Festivals of Light and between November 2022 and January 2023 it hosted an event to pay to tribute the works of this popular author. This video records the various scenes and characters from 11 of Dahl's masterpieces and in order of appearance they are:- 'The BFG', 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory', 'James and the Giant Peach', 'Esio Trot', 'The Witches', 'The Fantastic Mr Fox', 'The Twits', 'Matilda', 'George's Marvellous Medicine', 'The Enormous Crocodile' and 'The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me'.
