Does the Google Pixel 9 Overheat?!?

Today we will be briefly testing the Google Pixel 9 outside in the heat to see if it overheats. we will be shooting video at 4K 60fps in direct heat to try and overheat the device. we will also be checking for screen dimming.

They will invent new thermal solution, code the os to manage thermals better and change modem but still won't ditch Tensor. Using an old Snapdragon saves all these hassel.

I'm here in So.Utah St. George. Last month I took my Pixel 8 pro out in 106 degrees to also test my camera regarding this heat issue that people were having.anyway I was in direct ☀️🌞 started recording 4K 60FPS.at the 3:27 min mark got that warning "device is getting warm camera may shut off.it was just a flash on the screen if fact it was so fast I didn't even see what it said. Kept recording at the 9:46 mark that warning popped up again that's when I actually read what it said. The phone was warm but the screen never shut off or went dimmer finally at the 12:56 mark I stopped recording I was sweating by then 😅😅 guess I've been lucky my pixel 6, 7 or my 8 Pro never overheated to where the phone shut down. They've gotten very warm. Anyway thanks for the video keep up the good work. I'll be getting my Pixel 9 Pro XL porcelain on Wednesday. I originally pre-ordered the Pixel 9 Pro porcelain but I wouldn't have received it until Sometime between Sept 13-16. So I canceled it and went with the 9 XL

Display under direct sunlight looks horrible compared to Oppo find x8 pro.

That overheating issue is notorious on my pixel 4a or 5a. Can't remember.

I had my phone for less than 48hrs and put it on the charger for an hour and when I picked it up it was HOT AS HELL! Took it back the next day

My non XL pro gets pretty warm even when just playing audio non streaming with the screen off... really surprised, came from a Pixel 6 Pro which only ever got warm when using wireless charging. I'd rather it be a little slower than be warm all the time.

I don't know man my iPhone 15 pro dims more then that and my iPhone gets HOT when I take a one minute video. I think this phone did really well.

Hey all, what do you think of longevity of the P9 [without] the vapor chamber? I'm not a gamer or streamer, but I'd like to shoot an occasional 4k video without setbacks. If I get the 9, planning on keeping it until the 10 comes out and goes on sale. I'm no engineer, but the vapor chamber seems prone to leakage and failure under a variety of conditions. I wish they could design a more efficient heat sink instead.

Every time I see this standard Pixel 9, I can't get it out of my head that it's just a Pixel 8 Pro in a new chassis and a compact size, but mostly without the 5X zoom sensor and without the Pro Camera 📸 features 🤔

And as much as I can't justify the iPhone 15 with its 60 hertz screen in 2024, I can't justify this Pixel 9 at its price with its processor at the level of processors dating back 3 years (8 Gen 1 / 8+ Gen 1 / A14) .

And for me, S23 / S23 Plus are currently much better deals than both smartphones I mentioned above.
