⚠️⚠️👇🏿No there's some parts he's missing, the 1999 version has arcs and episodes that's not in the 2011 version, which explains key details, for instance why gon is so invested in kite even though he just met him, the 1999 version explains why, because he meets kite in the very first episode and he's the reason why he wanted to become a hunter in the first place also there's a part to the hunter exam that they took out of the 2011 version that's in the 1999 version and that explains why the black Hunter and the green outfit with the shades saved gon and told him that they're even when he was facing off with hisoka because in the 1999 version gon saved that hunter's life because he didn't know how to swim when everybody else is going to abandon him so that's why I would advise watching the 1999 version either way just to get more understanding of the story, the 1999 version doesn't have the ant Arc in it though it ends way earlier and then you can continue on what's the 2011 version

Well actually u need to watch from the 54 th episode in the 2011 version after the old ones (62 th) to really see a proper continuation
