It took a little while for the colony to accept the plastic combs in my flowhive (about six months longer than my traditional langstroth setup), but once they started filling it, we pulled a 16kg harvest from it. We can now see the next summer harvest building quickly through the windows. Can’t recommend this enough. It takes some patience, but the pay ease of harvest makes it worth it.

Yeah but that type of plastic will warp & I've heard you can only do a few extractions before it gets gunked up & you can't turn the key.

I don't think many people are willing to consider that the bees are making a conscious decision not to rob the honey out of some intrinsic symbiotic understanding or bond with the flow beekeeper because they've adapted to the safety and security that comes with inhabiting one, but I am. I really do think its something to think about because of concepts like morphic resonance, etc. What I'm really saying in laymen terms is that because there was conscious thought put into the design of the flow hive that is in the bees best interest, the bees have learned to understand that and thus they don't rob the honey.
