IMO san francisco needs a different center. Brendel is fast and a good run blocker but he screws up his declarations and lets free runners through in key moments in big games. The niners would have won the superbowl if our O line didnt let chris jones blow up the play unblocked with BA in the end zone. Same with the AZ game last week, there were enough blockers to go 5-0 but brendel didnt call out the protection correctly by shifting to the right and he blocked no one while a free runner came through on the right size and hit purdy mid throw. He is a serviceable player and has pros and cons like anyone but this is a major weakness of the niners where we could absolutely improve.

Shanahan has put together a great run blocking OL, but I have a hard time believing they’re good enough in pass protection. IMO Purdy’s ability to get the ball out quickly and more recently his mobility has covered up a lot of disastrous pass protection snaps. Then you get to the Super Bowl and Chris Jones can just completely derail your play at the biggest moment.

I’m a niners fan and I’m tired of the “Fire Kyle” fans. I think they’re bandwagon fans mostly. I remember what it was like before Kyle. I Know that he’ll get the big game. Only 1 team can get it every year. Fans act like it’s so easy…. It’s one of the hardest things to do, everything has to be perfect, and things happen to make situations less than perfect. And unfortunately Kyle’s been so good in an era dominated by Mahomes. He was hired the year mahomes came in, And the Chiefs dominate everyone. Not just the niners. I think people forget that Andy Reid was fired by the eagles, for going 8-8, them 4-12, for losing after he attacked free agency and brought in a massive amount of talent. He was with the eagles and had many playoff teams, but never won the SB until Mahomes. So I really do feel like the people who say to fire him genuinely do not know what they’re talking about or their bandwagon fans. Kyle has absolutely changed this franchise, the culture is a big part of it, and I don’t want to think about what would happen if he were to leave.

only idiots say fired Shanahan. It would just as stupid as firing Steve Mariucci who kept Niners in playoffs after Seifert. After 2003 playoff game against Tampa they fired Mooch and didn't see playoffs till 2011. Tampa went on to the superbowl and Defeated the raiders who was Jon Gruden's former team and blew them out. Tampa was too strong that year.

Kyle Shanahan has best running game period, no team built their O line for run blocking every team focus on pass blocking. Kyle pass game is bang average. There is a reason Kyle O struggles in playoffs before Purdy under center. He was able to win games in 2019 running the ball even in playoffs but after that GB game, teams figured out his offense in playoffs and needed defense to save him.

Now 49ers have no PA game no creativity in passing game, he spams slant and dig route occasional leaks
