2020 EUROS is the one they bottled the hardest lol. Imagine not winning the tournament despite having home advantage in every game bar the quarterfinal which they won 0-4 anyways, a favourable route & certain circumstances falling in their favour, not conceding a single open play in the whole tournament, going 0-1 up on home soil in the final but still losing on penalties despite Italy missing 2 penalties in the shootout dkm. 😂

I'm sorry English people, you cannot justify under no circunstance the way your team played in the Euros. Absolute meme

As an Englishman this is absolutely spot on, yet our national media have been waxing lyrical about him all week.
The luckiest Manager i've ever known and you watch England get a good manager then have an extremely hard draw in 2026 World Cup!

England would be terrifying if they had an attacking manager like Klopp. Such wasted talent

You could have mentioned the fact England got relegated from the Nations league. I wish they had lost to Slovakia. It would have been a better reflection of how poor they actually are under Southgate.

How Southgate wasn't fired after Euro 2020 proves in my mind the FA has different priorities than winning trophies

They literally went to finals on the back of cole palmer especially Bellingham, I can't help but see such good players played this euros like a sunday league team

I still haven't got over Southgate playing an injured Harry Kane against Italy in the 2021 Euros, then in extra time with Italy looking tired leaving Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho on the bench until the very last minute (to come on purely to take penalties). It's 1-1. You have 30 minutes left. Just go for it!

England fans moving like arsenal. Celebrating competing instead of winning 😢

Watkins and Palmer should have started the final because everytime they came on, they made a big difference, Kane and Foden were really poor in the whole tournament, maybe if they were benched we would have done better.

They're still good and young, for the most part. Even an older player like Kane, who brought nothing in the Euros, will be easily replaced with a player like Watkins. The midfield and defence are young, exept for Walker. And they didn't even take players like Maddison, Livramento, Grealish, Rashford, Tomori, ... All they truly need is a tactically better, more offensive manager. He doesn't even need to be that much better, just not a coward like Southgate.

When they weren’t desperate for a goal, they looked completely clueless most of the time.

Southgate stans are indefensible at this point. I can't understand how people watched this guy for 8 years with top level talent playing like a third rate team and still believe he's good because he had extremely lucky draws in two tournaments ( 3 if you include the world cup they lost to Croatia they had a great path there as well)

If you don't know, while Gareth Southgate's England had an unlucky things when it comes to success in major tournaments, the women's team of England (the Lionesses) managed to achieve something that the men's team couldn't in recent times at the same period.

A year after the men's side suffered a heartbreak at the Euro 2020 Final, the women's team managed to win their first major trophy of the senior team since 1966. They beat Germany after extra time in the Women's Euro 2022 Final, which was also played at Wembley. This women's team also somehow went all the way to the Women's World Cup Final a year later, though they ended up losing to Spain (this script was eventually repeated in the men's Euro Final this year). This Women's World Cup run for England was even historic, given the fact they lost several key players through injuries. Both of them were done under the former Dutch women's team coach Sarina Wiegman. In the past, the women's team of England are known for little success in major tournaments, with few exceptions such as the Women's Euro 2009 Final and the Women's World Cup 2015 3rd Place finishes.
