US President Joe Biden Meets Zelensky In Surprise Visit To Kyiv, Promises More Weapons For Ukraine

US President Joe Biden reached Kyiv on a surprise visit ahead of the 1st year anniversary of Russia’s war with Ukraine. Biden’s surprise visit came as he was travelling to neighbouring Poland to meet President Andrzej Duda. The visit, which had not been announced in advance for security reasons, is Biden's first trip to Ukraine since Moscow launched the war. Zelensky said he and Biden spoke about “long range weapons and the weapons that may still be supplied to Ukraine even though it wasn’t supplied before”.

It is imperative that the provision of arms to Ukraine persists, and the transfer agreement for arms and equipment must be endorsed by all. Without a steady supply of weaponry, Ukraine's capacity to wage an effective war against Russia will be severely limited.
