These Esports Matches Went WAY Too Long

From a 40+ round slugfest in VALORANT to an 8-hour marathon in Apex Legends and even a game of Pokemon that went over 1000 turns, these matches show just how far pros may have to go just to win a game.

Usually, a round of your favorite game goes by pretty fast, but what happens when they just can't seem to end? And what happens when those games are played at the highest level?

Today, we'll be taking a look at some of the longest matches in esports history.

for people curious about the abr vs tele match, when the match hit the 3 hour mark everyone on the main server went crazy. everyone was saying "hey did u hear? theres a 3 hour match going on on smogtours". i remember 3 hours later hearing the match was still going on so i hopped on over to spectate the match about 1000 turns in. everyone in the smogtours general chat was going crazy it was such a good time just watching the endless switching, reading all the toxic chat logs (some slurs were thrown around), and a draw being proposed but denied by abr. was exciting stuff and no one could believe it when it finally ended. it was a great viewing experience, u had to be there

Yeah, I'm glad VGC doubles is the official supported format The Pokemon Company chose. Aside from being faster in general it's also more easier for casual fans to follow. Massive respect for hardcore singles competitive players but I just can't. That being said, Gamefreak should really make a mainline pokemon game that focuses on doubles as a format

If you wanna make a video for the opposite, look up the shortest game in Smite Pro League. 3 minutes throwfest at its finest.

Dota 2, in 2015, Cloud9 vs ScaryFaceZ, a match went on for so long the game was breaking. ScaryFaceZ won the game after a grueling 200 mins.

For valorant, why not capped it at certain score? Like badminton capped at 30 for example. so even at 29-29, the one who scores 30 will be declared as the

I feel people in the comments will def think stall games last that long or are even common... the onky reason it lasted so long was one very sturbborn person not accepting an alr lost match... its like being in a dondozo mirror in vgc while being up a mon

Not the same but in halo 2 games- people would play assault, take the bomb and super bounce (Headlong or Zanzibar for example) and just hide until people quite. Really dumb.
