World of Warcraft Delves - T11 Waxface Solo (Devastation Evoker)

Done during the 'Stomping Some Sense' story for the Waterworks delve, for those who might wonder how I don't receive the maximum health reduction debuff when not within an air totem zone, since air purifiers have their own invisible safe area. It's also possible on a wipe when totems respawn to carry several into the boss room to increase the space you have to work with.
This one was an absolute doozy at around 603-604ilvl (Don't have specifics on gear at the time sorry), but problem solving this one with the tools Evoker has was actually kinda fun in hindsight even if it's something I would never in my right mind attempt again.
Balancing defensives, self-heals and maximising burn windows is the key to being able to down this boss, along with a high leveled Brann of course, but even being able to manage surviving through a few of Waxface's Burn Away rotations can be very luck reliant especially when Brann decides to yeet himself into the water and complicate damage windows or Rescue targeting, or on the opposite end hitting an absolutely massive crit from a trinket like what I experienced on this pull.
Rescue with Twin Guardian and Attuned to the Dream I would say is absolutely vital to making this work well, since I did not use a damage combat curio and instead opted for the Idol of the Earthmother since I had it at rank 4 - a cool shield for the occasional 70% of missing health that as far as I am aware is boosted by the healing received portion of AttD. All Rescue casts should go towards mitigating Wax Throw to reduce the amount of self-healing you need to prep for a following Burn Away, and as an added bonus doesn't move Brann so he can continue doing his thing. Renewing Blaze provided you have enough health to tank more than 2 ticks of Burn Away (which shouldn't be too difficult given the stamina and magic resist talents) is perfect when talented into Foci of Life to simply plant yourself and continue to dish out damage during your lust window, and of course two charges of Obsidian Scales is a massive boon when running as Scalecommander, all stacking with the added mitigation of Hover and its associated hero talent (Although I don't believe I made proper use of Hover as a mitigation option as well as I should have.) The fact that the two potions 'Cavedweller's Delight' and the 'Algari Healing Potion' don't share a cooldown is massive for survival, buying you much more additional time doing other more useful things that you otherwise wouldn't get.
The MvP that really clutched up however would have to have been the Mad Queen's Mandate trinket landing that massive crit on execute, but the Idol certainly is a very close second, covering a few mistakes and the onset of panic in the last few moments of the fight where aggro begins to become a major issue. Overall, ehhhh, still definitely not a fun boss at all given the steep amount of unavoidable damage that this thing throws out.
