2332 VW Air-cooled Stroker Motor - Video 61 - Wont Start Hot, Vapor Lock, Heat Sink, Fan Belt

Показать описание
Building a Volkswagen 2332 stroker motor from scratch with 94mm pistons and 84mm crankshaft. This is the 1968cc trouble while waiting for parts for the 2332cc. The engine wouldn’t start hot due to vapor lock caused by heat sink. the theory is that a bad fan belt and slightly retarded timing was causing the engine to heat up, while oil temps remained good due to the external oil cooler.

Engine would not start hot. Started fine cold. This happened 3-4 times getting worse every time. I was thinking it MUST be vapor lock due to hot engine heat sink, but oil temps were still 180 due to external oil cooler.

Advancing the timing also should make it run cooler, as there is more combustion time in the cylinder, rather than late ignition continuing to burn in the exhaust ports and exhaust.

Did you check the RPM, it sounds like is a little to low.
