As a owner of a Diavel, I've been drawn to inline and V-shaped 4 cylinders for a while and wondered what I should change my bike to... This is a godsent! The exhaust looks rad, can't wait to see what Termignoni or Akrapovič will make.

I think the exhaust would look better if Ducati split them and put two on each side.

So glad you are covering this. I've been saying this for the last 2 years at this was the next step in the spikes evolution. I'm very lucky to say that I have owned all these bikes still on first generation rocket carpentry equipped. Also on the second generation racket and have had the 2015 Diavel titanium and 2016 X diavel S. And just recently picked up a Pikes Peak V4 Multistrada and I'm telling you this engine deserves a place in the Diavel 120%

There will never be a more beautiful bike than the Black and Steel Diavel. And that L twin with the desmotronic is a BEAST and extremely reliable.

Owned a 2013 Diavel, sucker could go 170mph I kept up with liter bikes in a group ride. I love seeing it getting attention/updates

Hopefully the production article will look better in person because this kinda of hurts my eyes looking at it here. The Rocket 3 might be slower in drag race but it looks much cooler to me.

Those V4 engines in the rest of the Ducati lineup put out some serious heat, hopefully this one doesn't. I'm sure it would be a treat to ride but having four pipes sticking out of that humongous catalytic converter isn't right.

Love the quad pipes. Definitely keeping my eye on this bike.

Sold my 2020 Rocket 3R, a great bike and ridden the Diavel 1260s, which whilst faster up in the revs in lower gears and the very top end, it was way weaker in mid range in 3-4-5 from 30-100 and this v4 layout probably gives away more again in mid range to the new Rocket, so the ‘fastest in cruiser category’ is highly debatable as the Rocket tends to beat the Diavel in roll on tests and on quarter mile the Rocket is severely limited by the stock limiters which Triumph can fix and didn’t hamper the TFC. Anyway, always fancied the notion of a v4 Diavel Rob but got tired waiting and so went back to an OG 1985 Vmax custom build. Personally I think the L Twin was the better match for the Diavel and probably could have been tuned further still.. and not keen on the looks on first glance tbh. All the best, Jon

I would like the quad exhaust but "stacked and stepped" like the 3 pipes on the MV Augusta

Most people will find it odd that Ducati has decided to replace current 3 and a half years old diavel model with what basically is a laid back SFV4, but truth is the diavel 1260 is just a sportier version of the XDiavel, wich came out back in 2016.

When the expensive ZR 1 corvette came out 1990’s eith dual overhead cam heads by Cosworth. Only emblem on the car to show you spent another$20, 000 plus over base, I believe. The Diavel and Streetfighter engines hidden so much hard to tell it’s a v4. The triple exhaust so unique on Mv AGusta 800rr, I bought one especially when yellow/black Pirelli edition. I also own a super Duke cuz of visible engine and cool headlight. I would be interested in the new Diavel with the 4 exhaust. I love contemporary, unique, exclusive things. I bought a new Lambo Gallardo because it was a chiseled car vs something smoother like a Ferrari. Aesthetics are big selling points. Toyotas and Hondas are mainstream, OK styling for the masses. European stuff is outside the box. I love the Triumph Trident in that price bracket. So unique.

I own a MV AGusta Dragster 800rr Pirelli edition(black yellow) with the triple exhaust. One reason I loved the bike was the triple exhaust. I think the 4 shows you have something special like the MV. Yes, I bet the quad exhaust looks great. Look at quad exhaust on corvette

As a Diavel Carbon owner, excited about this new V4, but hope they maintain the incredible torque of the earlier twins. Having 200 hp as well, would be very, very nice (smile). It has a unique niche in the marketplace: a power cruiser that’s relatively light and handles wonderfully. That four muzzle exhaust, IMO, looks silly and juvenile. A simple, well-shaped carbon can would provide a nice bark, and not detract from the lines of the bike. Cue the aftermarket manufacturers…

I would love a 800cc version and of course, no desmo.

The exhaust really depends on how it effects the power over look. If it really kills the power band then that would be the first thing people would change.

I would be changing the exhaust straight up anyway to a quality aftermarket one mainly for the better sound and not to keen on that look

Looks like really cool. especially the quad exhaust. But, it can't be lighter over all with 2 more cylinders. The HP is disappointing if it's under 200 and torque less? I'll stick with my Diavel for now. Can't be cheap either.

The Diavel has always been a aspirational bike for me. I’m quick approaching the mid-life crisis purchase. Aspiration may soon be reality.
