Like everyone else said, the little detent hole that goes all the way through, is due to the spring that is stuck into the tang with a 90 degree angle. One piece is in the tang, and the other is in the frame.
Hey that’s Ca legal too!!! That’s rad! And for reference, we are allowed to own, but not not carry anything over 2 inches with an auto button (otf/ots, etc). Anyone from Ca can get in on this one! I LOVE my launch I got as a gift from Jamie Luvs Knives. They’re badass and used more than I thought in my day to day tasks.

It’s not a detent hole, it’s a hole for the torsion bar (spring)

That didn’t ball spot seems to have something in it because If you look at it closely you can see that there is a pattern emerging from where it is rubbing against the blade
