It's one of the best add-ons for MSFS and easily deserves a much higher overall score. The majority of players probably never miss the EFB, let alone maintenance features. It's for flying and it's one of the best workhorses in the sim.

I have been flying SWS Kodiak in MSFS for over two years now. It's very realistic and fun to fly.

One of the first purchases I made in the sim and one I keep coming back to again and again. Gorgeous texturing which is really light on frame rates and a believable flight model. This and the 414 keep me well happy. Personally I don't miss an EFB as all the flight planning can be done within the G1000 - which l really like - and since it's relatively short range I always load up full fuel anyway. Really nicely produced video Murph. Impressed!

Bringing attention back to some of the older aircraft is great! Maybe it will motivate the moders to update them a bit. Great video as always!

Thank you Murph for another great review.

While your review seems fair, some of the features you spoke about we're not as common back when this plane was released. Great plane to fly either way and it's come a long way since release.

Agreed, in a Sim the EFB adds a lot. If you see what BS and A2A does with the EFB on engine and maintenance, its adds immersion.

this was my first purchase in msfs, great plane. But I have come to love the steam gauges so this doesn't get used as much as it should

For 30 bucks you really can’t go wrong. I love the Kodiak: nimble, versatile, fun to fly. Bush trip king. I am however not a fan of the G1000, so mine sits in the community folder for the most part. The Analog Grand Caravan, though not as sexy, takes the cake for me. But if you like bush tripping and like the G1000, it’ll be right up your alley.

Agree with others. While fun to fly and visually well done I’m not a fan of the full glass cockpit and how clean it looks. Nice addition that you can mess up the engine on start but more wear and tear like on the BlackSquare TBM or the Comanche would be nice and adds immersion and purpose.

Still love this aircraft…would be great to see an EFB and the wear and tear like you’ve said

Awesome review, the Kodi is indeed one of the very best in the sim. It is truly enjoyable to fly, I really need to log more time in there. I see it parked a lot whenever I pull up in something else, maybe FS is trying to send me a message! "FLY THE KODIAK"

I have a love hate relationship with this airplane. I love the looks and the details (I don't miss the tablet). but the pitch issues on takeoff drive me nuts. I've followed the recommendations of using down elevator trim and right rudder trim. I even adjusted the pitch sensitivities on my yoke but the airplane still tends to pop up and wallow on takeoff. I'm sure it's me causing this. Regardless, this is a great airplane at a good price, and very popular. So I'm sure it will get an update in the near future.

Another very nice review, totally agree with the scores. But to be honest, there never will be an EFB update. They always seem to forget the older ones, that’s really sad. But you do not - and that’s great 😊 so keep up reviewing the older ones, too.

Little confused when you say the handling is phenomenal or "very very well done" but score it a 4. What is required to get a 4.5 or 5?

I can't help but feel this plane isn't correct on the pitch axis. This seems to be an issue with a lot of MSFS planes, though. I fly IRL, albeit not a Kodiak, but the plane responds very unnaturally when doing any pitch maneuvers. Takeoff is particularly odd with the way it shoots up off the runway even with the most gingerly pullback of the yoke.

I too have a love hate relationship with this plane. It has never been right at low speed, esp approach. getting it trimmed for an approach speed is almost impossible, on approach ot gets really uncoordinated when it should not. at low power low speed you get a hellish left yaw. SMS went overboard with the left turn tendency and never fixed it. outside of that it looks good, feels good for the most prt minus what I mentioned
