Inspired by Wassily Kandinsky's theories on form, resulting in the work; Dance Curves. 1926
'Dance Curves' is an essay accompanied by abstract line drawings referencing 4 images of German performer, Gret Palucca, who was an early pioneer of modern dance.
Kandinksy coming from the inter-disciplinary Bauhaus school, often collaborated and studied modern dancers...illustrating the "simplicity of the whole form".
Bauhaus, concerned with minimising subject matter, emphasised composition of pure lines, block colour and geometric shapes.
Kandinsky manages to reduce everything...music, architecture, movement, and painting to demonstrate his ideas.
