I try my small town backwoods best to work out the sizes on the larger McFarlane Avatar line shown at Disney's D23 last weekend!

Hey Fwoosh, I don’t know if people say this enough, but your ability to communicate as if you’re having a conversation with the audience is really really good. Lol. And you’re able to explain and convey concepts that may be a little confusing to others in a way that’s easy to understand and, again, like a conversation. You have a great personality and it shines through all of your videos. Been subbed for a while and just finally felt like commenting and sharing my thoughts lol. Keep up the great work man ✊🏻

You hit the nail on the head: 7-inch scale (referring to 6-foot tall humans) and 7-inch figures (representing 10-foot tall aliens) is where there is the disconnect.

And I mean, let's be real, scale has never been McFarlane Toys' strong suit.

I could see customs of the star wars kamino race out of the navi, and the banshees are just gonna be fun

The mech suit preorder instantly sold out on BBTS, and I’m sure it’s because everyone expected it to fit a 7” human. I could see preorders canceling once the scale is clarified.

McFarlane Toys: "7-inch scale-"
Collectors: "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

Yeah the term "scale" is causing confusion here. Basically Jake is 7.5", Neytiri is around 7.25" and Quaritch is like 4.5" if I remember correctly. The Navi figures were used as the basis for scaling everything in this line and they had to be capped at 7.5" in order to get them onto the Banshees, which are huge and amazing. The wingspan on the Banshee is like 25". And the AMP suit is scaled correctly to both the Navi and Quaritch. The Quarich figure fits in the AMP suit perfectly. The figures really are awesome.

Don't overlook the smaller 2.5" scale line either. World of Pandora, is the name. That line is really special and has all of the vehicles, animals and characters in it.

Watching Jake ride the Banshee gives me a strong Lord Of The Rings Nazgul Fell beast from Toy Biz vibe... (large figure <=> smaller ride/beast)

I don't know why, but I assumed the Avatars would be 7 inch and the humans smaller. I didn't realize there was any confusion. Cause the avatars are the main characters and 7 inch is normal for Todd.

This is like Storm Collectibles still claiming they are 1:12 scale.

Thanks for clearing this up! I knew something was funny with Quaritch having so many accessories haha. I guess the real evidence is seeing the peg stand looks huge now

Very interesting discussion topic, it's a shame the actual scale listing isn't clear but at least within the scale they've chosen it seems consistent between the figures. I'm eyeing that McFarlane Multiverse Blackest Night wave for that Atrocitus collect and connect who looks appropriately big, but the regular figures in that line seem pretty inconsistent still.

I've got only a few Multiverse figures but I'm considering getting into it as my main DC line, but the scaling throws me off. I just saw that Martian Manhunter who's traditionally one of if not the physically biggest of the original 7 JL members, is the shortest JL member they've made so far. I know they've been working on their scale issues but he's a relatively recent release, that perplexes me.

My only thought is they've done a lot of figures in that line based on various artists and style, with that the proportions vary. On the one hand I love how much they make that is all new sculpt, but I'd like a bit more consistency scale wise.

This is a similar issue with Neca's Gremlin figures. They consider those to be 7" scale, but they are more like 12" scale, as Gremlins are only like 2 to 3 feet tall. They don't make the human characters from those films, so it is less of an issue, but if you want to pose the Gremlins with other (human) figures, they will look odd with anything other than 12" scale ones.

Didn't expect this kind of content from Robo, but its fun

I'm sure there will be complaints about the size of the flying creatures at the current scale they are releasing them at. It would have been even worse if they were any larger. See: the Gargoyles gripes.

That scale makes me a little worried for this new line. Mcfarlene's recent smaller scale line with Disney Mirrorverse were around that and had awful articulation.
