Im learning now to deleate stuff when it doesnt feel good in the track. Some time before it was hard for me bc of ego but now i just do it. The goal is to have a good track after all, and most of the time it doesnt take too much sounds to reach that goal

I used to get this with arps when I’m producing melodic tech/house my arp was taking centre stage whilst my lead was sitting around the same volume and depth in the mix so the star of the show was literally lost under this less important part of my track the way I fixed this was pretty obvious lowered the arp volume subtle use of ambient reverb and width of the arp using mid side eq obviously bringing up my lead up the centre more bringing it out more with ott and more interesting with ducking reverb tails and other processing techniques to keep it a bit more interesting that’s how I fixed my issue also sound selection and deleting and or completely replacing an element usually less is more in most occasions

I watched an interview with Bruce Swedien and every time he would give a new sound he was introducing some space so that you would notice it. Remove something before adding something.
