What is Title 24?

Title 24 is the California building standards that regulates all buildings being constructed in California but most people know Title 24 from chapter 6 of the California Building Code which governs energy codes and energy standards. If you are building a new building or doing a major remodel of your house, you may be using more energy so they want to see your "Title 24 Calculations." You get those Title 24 calculations from your mechanical or electrical enigineer and they print off Title 24 forms which they put onto your drawing and you submit to the city.That, in a nutshell, it what Title 24 is all about.
