Rice is the main food for south Indian people. Growing rice is not an easy task. Today we are going to see how our farmers work hard to grow rice.
Hello Everybody, in this video we are going to see how rice is grown, come on let’s go
There are two steps involved in growing rice. One is preparation of field and the other is preparation of sapling.
First Let us see the preparation of Land.
In India They use more machines and less people where as in America they use more machines and less people so the land is divided in to small squares. It makes it easy to manage.
The land preparation starts immediately after the rain. The land is filled with lots of water. This is done so that the soil becomes soft.
After few days the farmer starts ploughing the field. Ploughing is done to make the soil loose and easy to plant. To Plough the farmers in earlier days used bulls but today they use tractors and tillers.
Now we are seeing the tractor ploughing the field. This can take one to two hours. For this the tractor uses a special attachment.
This is called a tiller. This is a small machine. Here we can see the tiller ploughing the field. It is a small machine and it takes time to plough.
Here are the bulls ploughing the field. In this farm they use tractors and tillers also bulls.
Now let us see how the seeds are prepared. First step the seeds are soaked in water for one day. Then they are planted in a small square land like this.
In 4 days the seeds start growing. They grow very close to each other. Once they reach a good height they are ready to be moved.
Once the field is ready the saplings are bundled like this.
The saplings are planted separately to grow further.
Once planted it takes three months to grow. During this time the farmer has to take care of weeds, insects to grow a healthy plant.
Canals help supply water to the farms. Here we can see the water flowing to the farms through the canals.
