Check out the brand new official music video for “The Night Comes Down”, a timeless track from their debut album.

“The Night Comes Down” is the first single taken from Queen I, a remastered, remixed, expanded 6-disc box set of the band’s ground-breaking debut album, Queen, and one of the earliest of the band’s recordings to ever appear on an official release.

The track is released physically on 7” October 4 , shortly ahead of the anticipated Queen I box set release on October 25.

Among the band’s legendary tracks, Brian May’s tenderly nostalgic confessional pointed gracefully towards Queen’s future. The glinting guitars of the opening herald a display of Brian’s innovative and layered style, set to become a key element of Queen’s dramatic, grandiose, and orchestrated sound.

Between Freddie Mercury’s exquisite falsetto, John Deacon’s rippling bass, Roger Taylor’s attentive percussion and Brian’s deeply sensitive playing, the young band were here discovering a voice all of their own.

Physical 7” single for release 4 October. Available for pre-order 11th September from Queen Online store ahead October 25 Queen I box set release.

Queen I: The iconic debut album – newly mixed, mastered, expanded.

The video features classic images of Queen from the early 1970s, but following a collaboration with an artist specialising in AI, some of those images have been given a whole new dimension. Hopefully, the end result is a sense of what it was like being around the band as their extraordinary journey began.

Don't auto-tune Freddie! It's like a slap in the face to the god of rock!

Thou shalt not autotune Freddie

This has had all the soul mixed out of it. Left me feeling cold. Freddie sounds like an AI generated Freddie. The frequencies on the acoustic guitar at the end set my tinnitus off.

The AI is even creepier than I expected! Combined with the use of pitch correction, this is really quite something.

I have shaken Roger's hand, patted Brian on the back and was once just a metre from Freddie .... As a massive Queen fan i feel truly blessed in my life time )))

Freddie said "do what you want with my music, just don't make me boring." And what do these people decide to do? A generic, run of the mill AI video, just like everyone else's doing. Don't be lazy guys, Queen deserve much, MUCH more than this.

Bought my copy in 1973, it was perfectly good enough then, and is perfectly good enough now. Just because you can now play about with it doesn't mean you have to. Not only is it sacrilege but it's effing about with my memories of following this great band since the Mott tour.

I'm so glad I was around when music was real.

Fans : How about using some unused footage from 1973 promo outtakes & Japan 75
Queen official : No.

I love Queen, and Queen I is one of my favorite albums, i don’t understand why making it “more perfect” when it already was. I’ll always prefer the original version, with their original sound.

This was one of my favorite queen songs. When I was a kid I carried my complete set of queen albums with me to school in my backpack so I would have them at my after school baby sitting job. I used to put the speakers on either side of my head while laying on the floor and turn the music way up. My brush with greatness with queen was besides seeing them twice live in Kansas City, was coming back from a trip to Rome with my parents we had a stopover at I think Gatwick airport for fuel and I went to the duty free shop and happened upon the EMI version of NATO. It was on thick and heavy vinyl different from the Electra Asylum USA version. Anyway while waiting in line to get back into the gates to re-board the plane I realized I was about five people behind Brian and a companion in line. Here I am with a fresh copy of Opera in line behind Brian May! I chickened out and didn’t ask him to sign my album. Had I known what a nice guy he is and now not being shy at all… but alas it is a fine memory anyway.

You can remaster tracks to perfection but truth is we love Queen I and Queen II as imperfect as they are

We who have grown up listening Queen cannot forgive you for thinking Freddie's voice needs to be "corrected" . What are you doing??

Freddie, a Graphic Designer and artist would absolute DISAPPROVE of the use of AI here

First band I saw when I was 8 years old sitting on the shoulders of my uncle. One of the last free festivals at Hyde Park, Christmas 1976. Steve Hillage supported. Always loved Queen 👑 and these chaps are a true legacy to British rock music. Sheer Heart Attack is my personal favourite but I love them all especially the early years although there were many gems in the later part of their career. Love you gents and thank you for being who you are! RIP Freddie. Rest in Paradise. Singing with the angels 🙏🏼 🌈 🕉
