This was very informative. I am a gardener in Southern California and last year I 'stumbled' across Mortgage Lifter heirloom tomatoes (I bought a plant at a local nursery). They were the best tomatoes I had ever tasted and I was hooked. I noticed however that from the seeds i saved from last year, that not as many sprouted with these tomatoes as did with the other hybrid varieties I planted. I also noticed that the plants grew differently than the hybrids (early girl and better boy). From the information i had about pruning tomato plants, it didn't seem to me that it would work the same on the heirlooms. Anyway, your video diffused these concerns and confirmed 'suspicions' I had about the differences.

Also in the corner of tomatoes beds you can make compost waste worms tube or buckets. Improve the soil and the taste of vegetables and fruits.

Will the newspaper block your fertilizer and calcium absorption when the plants are side dressed?
