we use this rod holder with spinning reels when fishing for trout, either trolling or bait fishing. It works great! The spinning reel simply rotates on its side, either left or right. We use the locking collar when trolling, to prevent losing the rod during a violent takedown. We love the complete adjustability of these units, left, and right, up and down

I no i had that on my old kayak.when i bought new one i put the power locks on to find out that they r bigger and dont hold spinning reels unless they r upside down. had to buy 3 more of the 280.but wanted the power locks just didn't work out.

I bought 3 for my kayak and come to find out they want hold a spinning real now have to replace them with the old style.they should of said something about that on there web site.i like them with the power lock.and the bad thing they r bigger than the old style.

There a reason you guys have no photos of the other side of it or any photos of it with a spinning reel? I'm going to end up ordering the other model simply because I can't find any photos showing a spinning rod fitting or anything specifically mentioning a spinning rod (while it *is* specifically mentioned in another of your similar products)
