How long will a 12V 100Ah lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery run a 12V RV fridge? Let's find out! I connected my 12V mini fridge to a 12V 100Ah lithium battery and started a timer. Then I recorded how long the fridge ran off the battery. I was surprised by the results!

I insulated the outside of my 12V fridge with 1" styrofoam insulation board, bottom and sides, excluding the top and small side vent area. Taped into place with foil duct tape. This resulted in fridge cycling on half as often, extending battery charge to nearly twice as long. Way cheaper than adding a second battery for extending cooling time. 500watts of solar panels feeding 100AH LiPo battery through 40Amp controller. Two years traveling, not one hiccup.

My Ecoflow Delta 2 and EB use The LifePO4 batteries. It will power lights at the cabin (AC) and my Iceco 31 qt. fridge (DC) for 3 day camping trips using about 70 - 75% of the charge. Very pleased! Thanks for your review...well done.

Thank you for this video. Great content. I'm now confident in buying one of those cooler/fridges.

Loved the video. Would love to see how you actually hooked up everything to the fridge, like the type of connections from the battery to the rv, where you got all the materials or if you have to make it. You need to assume that I am a rock...but I breathe. Great video, thank you.

Yeah, mine stays outside, but I've got 300 AH of 48v batteries and another 200 AH of 12v batteries along with a 2.6kw solar array on my RV roof. The portable fridge isn't even an afterthought, the rooftop A/C is about the only thing that really draws my system down at all in situations where I have to augment the mini split to get cooler faster or if it's north of 100-105 degrees outside.

Came for 12V fridge and use info. Had no idea I would be watching a Lil Dicky video. The internet is such a cool place.

Great test that it did amaze me how long that worked. I love that chinz battery. They have one with a Bluetooth app built-in.

Great test. Another test in hot summer conditions in a Van would be interesting.

Great video.

Here are some suggestions:
a) 5 cubic foot 110v chest freezer connected via an inverter large enough to power the freezer
b) 700 watt microwave (via a small enough inverter)
c) 2 L capacity kettle (via a small enough inverter)
d) diesel heater (one of those cheap Chinese ones)
e) Starlink Internet dish and router

we run a 63 liter iceco chest fridge on a 200 ah bluetti 2400.
we run it 7 days 24/7 before recharge using it normally while camping.

the bluetti is not totally drained but 7 days is guarenteed
even in 90 degree summers

This is the kind of tests I was looking for! Please test a fully loaded 1000W desktop playing games or doing multi-hours rendering.

I tested a Newair 48 qt. duo zone cooler recently using one of the new "mini" 100ah batteries. With both zones set to -4 degrees F and with the cooler filled with 31 lbs of 4" cubes of ice, to represent frozen food that would need protecting during a power outage, the battery ran the cooler for 2 1/2 days. I was impressed.
Next I constructed a DC to DC converter that allowed me to drop 18 volt Ryobi tool batteries down to 14 volts and ran the same cooler under the same conditions. I'd like you to do the same with your cooler while set up as a refrigerator, rather than a deep freeze as I did. I thought it would be a handy thing if you wanted to take the cooler on a long grocery shopping trip, but wouldn't want to leave it connected to your car battery while it was parked. Just switch to the tool battery while you're inside the store.
This stuff is fun, ain't it?
