Also due to lazyness of developers some of Phillip's castles does not include armory, wchich makes him a living corpse on the map.

You actually missed one important point regarding knights: The best counter to knights are fire ballista. They show their worth in the last mission of Saladin's campaign where you have like 20 to fight off huge hosts of knights. Feel free to check in a custom game, but if you have like 5 fire ballista, you can easily shred around 15 knights before they can even attack.

something worth noting when fighting against Phillip is actually how fire attacks could cripple his base much better than when you're using it against Rat. If you don't want to deal with subsequent raids, just burn his castle.

Usually for scattered defences instead of Walls i make isolated towers on edges of castle building... Load them with crossbow and shields and balista and then cut of the stairs from the bottom once everything is stationed... enemy units usually ignore these towers as they can't get on it 😎😎😎

Try assasins if you can make 50 of them you will get him easily
