Anime is great, Matt.
As a life itself, it contains a lot of dirt (probably mostly dirt), but it also contains beauty, contains good.

If anime shouldn’t exist because it’s messy, same goes to life.

I'm not sure why Matt hates on anime so much. The majority of it instills traditional moral lessons that are very conservative in nature. It's like a modernized parable and one of the last bastions in media that has only just started to see woke influence. While it may be hyperbolic and unrealistic, kids that grew up watching it often have a strong moral foundation and grow up to be contributing members of society. Seems like an odd thing to take a stance against as a conservative.

One Piece has some great life lessons about moving on from past oppression and not blaming others for your problems. In the early episodes at least.

Anime has actually kept this fairly normal throughout all this PC culture. If anything, anime is more neutral or center-right in some cases. They're not afraid of showing attractive characters, for example

I appreciate the humour behind Matt being the stubborn cynical jerk he is but I have to tell you I'm a massive anime fan myself at 6 feet tall and 165 pounds and I could likely take Matt down in an MMA style fight. 😉

He’s right . My now mentally healthy granddaughter was so into anime had her hooked for several years. She even came to me and asked me about her loving a woman. I told her it was wrong. God says the opposite . To fall in love, marry, have children, etc. she gently and pleadingly came back with . I think I do love her, I think I have found the one. I told her if you say you believe in God and love him, then how can you go against his word. It’s like a huge relief went over her. She said ty granny. I knew you would give me the truth. She never mentioned anime again.
