I just "helped" tie a quilt for the first time at my church on Tuesday. I joined the ladies quilting/sewing group. I am SO excited to finally learn quilting. Ive been so afraid to and really can't afford to quilt. But this way, we use all donated materials to make quilts for Kenya and local ministries in Spokane, WA😊

This is so interesting and nostalgic! I remember my mother and grandmother using a frame to tie twin-bed comforters with tops made from woolen squares cut from old clothes. We kids had them on our beds in the winter. Mine even went with me to college dorm life. 🥰

Jan - my 90 year old grandma quilted using a frame. I told her I was learning how to quilt and she asked ‘are you doing it by hand or machine honey?.’ When I told her machine she patted my hand and assured me that was ok too.
