President Trump signs 'Right to Try Act'

President Trump signed the "Right to Try Act" Wednesday afternoon, giving terminally ill patients more access to seek medical treatment not yet approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Thank you very much. I have thankfully never been terminally ill but I was an all reasonable options exhausted patient by the time I was 13.

I have tried over 100 different medicine combinations and been through 9 neurologist. In the span of five years I had gone through damn near every pediatric neurologist in the state.

When I was 12 and a half I was given a brain surgery that removed about a cubic centimeter of brain matter. That caused Advanced retrograde amnesia, dyslexia, impulse issues, and more but I have had one partial complex seizures since then. Taking a melon baller to a preteens brain is by all stretches the imagination experimental and unreasonable.

But the alternative was I was having a seizure a day off medication and all my best combination I was still having one to two a month.

High-risk mostly experimental treatments is the only reason I hold a full-time job, I'm married, I drive, and I am living an independent life.

Thank God you passed the right to try Act. If I am terminal please use my brain for medical research and you know what if I can give you feedback on it while I'm still alive even better.

I have met many people in my chronic pain disorder group who would be (ecstatic is not a big enough word for this) to try some experimental treatments just to see if they work because all other normal options have failed.

The right to try is a base need of human autonomy the right to put in my body what I deem fit if I'm willing to take that educated risk as long as it's educated it's my choice. Thank you.

Even though I personally dislike Trump, I can't help but applaud him for signing this bill. This will fast track the incredibly slow drug testing process as well as possibly helping those who need this these treatments the most.
