Explanation: there used to be an old god that was kind, but the new god trapped him in some way and took his place. The old god is who asked you for help and took you there, the new one is the one that kills you when you have 0 karma.

Pro Tip:Build A Cross To Increase Your Karma (Do NOT Make It Upside Down, I Am Pretty Sure More Expensive Blocks Raise Karma More). Also, You MUST Kill Hostile Mobs To Raise Your Karma Since Your Karma Lowers At Night

Actually, killing a villager drops your karma by 15, also baptizing yourself in unholy water drops your karma by 3.
