My Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Pro X Just Became a Brick

For some reason my Yoga Slim 7i Pro X just became a completely non working device. Nothing at all is happening when trying to start it plugged in or not. There's light from the power button and light from the charge led, but that's it. Do you have any idea of why this could happen, please let me know.

On a lot of newer laptops you have to hold the power button for a really long time. Try holding it down for like a minute even of the lights start flashing and see if it ever goes off completely. If that doesn't work, and the battery disconnect/reset button doesn't on the bottom, you could try to take the back off and actually unplug the battery from the motherboard.

Bring a flashlight real close to the screen and see if it's just really dim. I've sometimes seen this on computers when the OLED, LCD panel fails, its really dim but still turned on.

Wish I could help! My Lenovo P14S G1 has been almost trouble free for almost 2 years, although the trackpad had to be replaced soon after I received it

Something similar happened to a friend’s Lenovo gaming laptop and I found something somewhere saying to hold the power button for 60 seconds and that might work. I was sceptical but I tried it, and sure enough it booted up and he’s had no problems with it since.

If you search Reddit there seem to be a bunch of problems with this device, way more than with the predecessor. Pretty disappointing considering this should be a premium device.

Concerning to say ths least!
On my side I also gota blue screen with restart not even a week after receiving it. However no other problems of that type since.

Have you tried the reset button on the bottom plate of the laptop on the side of the vent grill?

Something similar happened to me, due to a UBS C cable probably giving it too much power and creating a shock. It took a couple of weeks but then it came back to life by itself. Same happened to me wtih a thinkpad, but thinkpad have a small reset button (you press it with a sim eject tool) so that made it come back to life immediately... I would simply wait a week or 10 days and then just hold the power button for 10 seconds and press it again

In my opinon a hardware failure.
If it would turn on (and just don't activate the screen) you would hear the fans.
Holding the power button for 10 seconds should normally switch it off.
You could try a BIOS reset if that's possible.
Otherwise I would contact the Lenovo support. They are quite good and helpful, at least in Germany.
Hardware failures can happen, also with new devices. I worked for an IT manufacturer for some years and (back then) around 3 % of memory died within the first week.

Just try to boot from bootable USB drive and see what is the problem: use ventoy to create bootable USB drive, you can add Ubuntu, hirens boot CD...

Lenovo is truly a Chinese crap. Some years ago I bought a Lenovo Yoga 2 in the Netherlands. The worst laptop that I have ever used. And I have had many. For that bad laptop I paid for 900 Euros and it was plagued with problems from the start. The Lenovo service in The Netherlands sucks. Never again Lenovo. I have a Dell for the last 2 years and they really top on customer service!
